[Revised April 15, 2016.]
Since 2009, ASPET has deposited with PubMed Central the final version of any article funded by a grant from the NIH, the Wellcome Trust, and the councils that constitute the Research Councils UK. The deposits meet the requirements of these funding agencies. Articles authored by NIH staff members are also being deposited by ASPET. Articles are deposited with PubMed Central shortly after an issue is complete.
ASPET now offers an open access option that meets the requirements of the Wellcome Trust and the Research Councils UK. If you have funding from one of these organizations or an organization with which they are affiliated, you must - per the funder's requirements - use the open access option. Check your funder's requirements prior to submission.
ASPET will continue to deposit in PubMed Central articles authored by those funded by the NIH and by authors who are employees of the NIH. ASPET is pleased to provide its authors with this service at no charge.
Please note that funding by these agencies MUST be cited as described in the Instructions to Authors. To be deposited with PubMed Central, funding citations must include a grant number. NIH staff must follow the footnote format given for NIH intramural research, per the NIH. See the section on "Footnotes" in the Instructions to Authors.
ASPET will not be responsible for depositing with PubMed Central any article funded by the agencies listed above if the article does not cite funding from these agencies.
Since April 2005, ASPET has made JPET, Molecular Pharmacology, and Drug Metabolism and Disposition manuscripts freely accessible immediately upon acceptance for publication.
Please contact ASPET's Journals Director, Rich Dodenhoff, if you have questions about ASPET's deposit policies.
